Days That Change More Than Technique
Multi-day intensive training in Bradford, in partnership with Project Resurgence — considerable time with Martin, his team, and guest faculty, built to push you to your absolute limits.
The Philosophy Behind Every Intensive
Every HowlyBallet intensive is built on the same belief: ballet is the best foundation a dancer can have. That core discipline, those fundamentals, that posture — it’s what lets a dancer branch out into anything. Real versatility is built on real grounding.
But the point was never only to produce professional dancers. It’s to use ballet, and dance more broadly, as a conduit to become a better person. Most students won’t go on to a career in dance — that’s fine. What they take from a week of pushing themselves, failing, adjusting, and improving is worth having regardless.
These weeks are intense. They’re also genuinely fun. Guest faculty are chosen because they inspire and motivate, not because they scare — teachers students would want careers like, not ones they’re afraid of. Mistakes are expected and welcome; you don’t get anywhere in life, or in ballet, without making a lot of them.
Easter Intensive
30th March – 2nd April 2027. 4 days, 6 hours a day, at Project Resurgence’s studios in Bradford.
Easter isn’t ballet-only — it’s dance in the round. Musical theatre, jazz, contemporary, and more, taught by a mix of experienced teachers and genuinely current names in the industry: real working choreographers, not just people who used to be. It’s a chance to expand technical range and vocabulary as a dancer and as an artist, built on the same technical grounding as everything else HowlyBallet does.

HowlyBallet Summer School
2nd–6th August 2027. 5 days, at Project Resurgence’s studios in Bradford.
The more technically focused of the two — classical ballet sits at its heart, but it extends into modern ballet, neo-classical, contemporary, and repertoire throughout the week. Guest faculty are drawn from across the country: ex-professionals, repertoire specialists, and genuine excellence in the field. The week includes masterclasses, coaching sessions, and video diagnostic work, and finishes with a demonstration for families — a proper, earned finish to a hard week.
It’s intense, and it’s meant to be. The whole point is that dancers walk out having genuinely improved.
