FAQ — Howlyballet 2026

Anywhere from age 4 to 94, and every level from complete beginner to advanced — the class or lesson is built around who’s in it.
No. A kitchen worktop, the back of a chair, or a table works fine as a barre. Wooden or laminate flooring is best — avoid carpet if you can.

Places are by audition. Send either a video of your ballet solo (minimum 90 seconds) or three class exercises, along with your age, and Martin will assess whether it’s the right fit. Dancers must be aged 11 to 16.
The programme is capped at 25 dancers. Spaces are limited and go quickly.
Every Tuesday during term time: Strength & Conditioning (4.45–5.30pm), a 15-minute break, Classical Ballet with Martin (5.45–7.15pm), another 15-minute break, then Pointe (7.30–8.00pm) with a specialist teacher. All times GMT, all delivered live on Zoom.
Every three weeks, dancers submit video of their work across all three parts of the programme. Martin and his team review it properly, and each dancer gets individual feedback — a video or voice note from Martin, plus written notes.

Minimum 1 hour, maximum 1.5 hours.
A maximum of 3 per academic year. The idea is to give you enough to genuinely study and practice in between — real progress happens in the work you do after the lesson, not in how many you book.
You can either bring a solo or repertoire piece for Martin to break down and diagnose, filming before and after so you can see the change — or come in with a specific goal (a jump, a pirouette, more strength, better balance) and have the whole session built around it. Both are priced the same.
Yes — parents are welcome in the room and welcome to film. Martin actively involves parents, giving them real tools and exercises to help their child continue developing outside of lessons.
For in-person lessons, yes — on average 25 to 50 videos of the exercises and steps covered, which are yours to study, practice with, or share however you like.
Give at least 48 hours’ notice and you’ll get a full refund or a free reschedule. Cancellations inside 48 hours, or no-shows, aren’t refundable — a slot cancelled that late generally can’t be filled by anyone else in time.

UK-wide and internationally. Visits over roughly 150 miles or 3 hours’ drive each way require the 5-hour session as a minimum booking.
For visits where travel would push the total day past around 12 hours, yes — the host school is asked to arrange and cover a hotel for the night before.
No more than 90 minutes at a time, with a 15-minute break between blocks.
Filming during class is welcome. If you want dedicated filming of something specific, that time needs to be factored into the booking rather than taken from the teaching time.
